The short version

Some of the links in our guides, emails, and website are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. It never changes what we recommend.

The longer version, because we'd rather over-explain than under-explain

One Current is run by Pure Diem LLC. Alongside the products we sell in our own shop, we publish guides and recommendations for things we've looked into and would use ourselves. Some of the brands we point you to run affiliate programs, which means that when you buy through our link, they pay us a small percentage of the sale. It costs you nothing — the price is the same whether you use our link or go directly.

Affiliate links and marketing never decide what goes into our guides or recommendations.

Here's how we keep those two things separate:

We pick first, and look for a link second. A product earns its place in a guide by meeting our standards — not because it pays a commission. We recommend plenty of things we make nothing on (bare Lodge cast iron is one), and we'll always include the right answer even when there's no affiliate program behind it.
We'll never point you toward something we don't believe in. No amount of commission gets a product recommended here. If we wouldn't put it in our own home, it's not in the guide.
We mark affiliate links where it matters. Where a link earns us a commission, we tell you — clearly, and before you click — on the page, and in any email or downloadable guide where the link appears.
Where we have a relationship worth naming, we name it. If a brand, tester, or source we cite has a financial tie we think you should know about, we say so plainly in the guide itself, not buried here.

A note on the sources we cite

Our guides sometimes reference independent testers and reviewers. Some of those testers have their own financial relationships with brands — sponsorships, affiliate links, or discount arrangements. When that's the case and it's relevant to a recommendation, we disclose it in the guide, drawing on what those testers publish about their own relationships. We do this so you can weigh the evidence with the full picture, not a partial one.

If we participate in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, we earn from qualifying purchases made through Amazon links. As required, those links appear only on our website, not inside emails or downloadable guides.
